Business Analyst(s) Position Type – Full time or corp-to corp ok Period of Performance – November 2, 2009 – February 2010, with possible extensions Job Location – Timonium, Maryland, some local client travel within metropolitan Baltimore Position Description: The Business Analyst works with stakeholders to understand and document existing business processes and business needs, to define detailed requirements, and to develop requirement specifications.
Position Responsibilities: ·ÔConducts business analysis activities, such as requirement analysis, JAD sessions, business process modeling, and the creation of use cases, ÔÔÔbusiness rules, glossaries, and diagrams ·ÔIdentifies statutes and regulations that require a business or prospective business to interact with the client and the clients’ obligations ·ÔAssesses current interactions and processes that occur between the State and businesses or prospective businesses ·ÔDevelops process flow diagrams ·ÔCollaborates with stakeholders (internal and external clients) and project team members to clarify and detail business requirements ·ÔConducts industry research to identify feasible options for addressing business needs ·ÔGathers information from businesses that currently interact with the client to identify possible process and/or system improvements ·ÔUnderstands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to ÔÔachieve its goals
Position Mandatory Requirements:
·ÔMinimum of seven years of experience in the analysis and documentation of business processes and requirements of information systems ·ÔExtensive business process analysis and documentation experience ·ÔExtensive experience conducting JAD sessions and facilitating client meetings ·ÔExtensive technical writing experience producing documents such as business cases, process flow diagrams, requirement specifications, and use cases ·ÔIn-depth practical understanding of requirements/analysis best practices ·ÔExcellent written and verbal communication skills ·ÔExcellent interpersonal and client management skills ·ÔWorking knowledge of relational databases ·ÔExperience with mid to large-scale IT systems ·ÔBachelors degree
Position Desirable Requirements: ·ÔExtensive experience and in-depth understanding of state government to business and business to state government processes, interactions, transactions, and information systems ·This project involves requirements analysis for a business licensing system, so if you can find applicants with similar experience, that would be ideal, but not mandatory.
