Job Description: Job Title: Business Applications Programmer (JAVA)temp-to-perm Executive Summary: Our client needs a coding guru with a strong Java/J2EE background to work on a long-term, fast-paced project tracking nuclear materials around the world. NOTE: Candidates must have been in the US for the last seven years without leaving for more than 30 days. An extensive (7-8 week) background investigation is required prior to starting. Overall Requirements: Plans, conducts, and coordinates programming application activities. Writes business applications computer software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business problems or questions. Develops statements of problems, designs systems and programs, and writes programs in computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Candidate will assist in the planning, analysis, documentation, design and implementation of a major application. Must be able to support the team in analysis, design, development and testing of all required functionality iteratively, while incrementally developing a complete solution. Candidate must have the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision, but also within a collaborative team environment. Candidate must have the ability to think on their feet, be proficient in problem analysis and very have strong problem solving skills. Effective communications (verbal and written) are required to interface with customers and team members. Must have experience in working in a structured, development environment, using industry standard methodologies like CMMI, RUP, and/or ISO 9000. Candidate must also have strong background in object oriented development with JAVA including J2EE, Struts, EJBs, JBDC, etc. Candidate should be well versed in current technologies, and be able to provide guidance and recommendations in support of implementing web strategies. Required Skills: 3-5 years of JAVA including J2EE, Struts, EJBs, JDBC, Must be strong in J2EE development, 3-tier architectures, RDBMS Database application development (Oracle preferred, but strong SQL and query experience a must), Linux, . Desired Skills: Experience with Hibernate is preferred, as is experience with Crystal Reports, Rational Enterprise Tool Suite, RUP, Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle 10g database, AES Encryption Algorithms, Sect 508 Compliance, Oracle RAC Technology, PKI & Digital Certificate administration.
