Job Description: Seeking a Prototype UI Designer candidate that is a lead that will head the activites below and 2 UI designer/developers. Position set to start Nov 1. Initial contract will be 6 months with an extension of 6 months.The objective of this task is to provide User Interface Design Support to improve the Automated Information Systems (AISs). The Contractor shall provide User Interface design assessments and User Interface engineering design support for a minimum of 25+ AISs over 6 months. The Contractor shall perform detailed and thorough assessments of the User Interface Design for specified AIS(s) and provide findings and recommendations which will assist to improve the usability and efficiency of the specified AIS(s) enabling the audience to use the product in an manner that best aligns with the product’s intended purpose, thereby helping to achieve its objectives. Contractor will review all UI applications to decide which application would be the best for a cloud computing environment. Must be a web interfaced application. Will need to make sure the chosen application works well with the client service system in current exsistance. This task includes review and assessment of the current user interface and creation of user interface design requirements using a methodology based on both research and testing and a user-centered design methodology to ensure that the actual audience behavior will match as closely as possible to the desired behavior of the audience. The recommendations shall provide a framework for creating intuitive user interface design to support solutions that make sense and streamline the workflow required by the AIS. This task order shall focus on the integration of user interface design into the overall requirements process to support the goals and objectives of the business unit supported by the AIS. General goals for the User Interfaces for all AIS’s are: ·ÔScale up the AISs to meet the increasing user demands and business needs ·ÔCreate an intuitive interface for users of the AISs ·ÔCreate more efficient use of the AIS by matching the AIS UI to the workflow employed by users of the AIS ·ÔImplement designs to minimize personnel training requirements and related costs ·ÔReduce costs by reducing time needed to perform specific tasks within the AIS ·ÔReduce re-engineering costs by integrating usability design prior to engineering ·ÔMaximize pre-built or system design elements in our products to minimize custom widget development All technologies being used on/for the project: SOA Enterprise Architecture Unix (HP, AIX, Linux) Redundant/robust systems Virtualized/cloud-based environments Web 2.0 enhanced user interfaces SQL database implementation including Oracle DB Service segmentation (data and business services), characterization and definition) Distributed computing, including client-server, 3-tier (COBRA, J2EE and Web-based) Web Services Messaging (MQSeries, JMS, TIBCO) J2EE .NET Java Struts XML UML C++ XSLT ASP.Net JUnit Eclipse COBOL Documentum
