Job Description: Java Tapestry Developer Location: Fairfax, VA Longterm position Education Requirements: 9 years with Bachelor's 7 years with Master's 4 years with Ph.D. Description: Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for commercial software. Determines computer needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Java Developer (Tapestry Expert): Perform software development and unit testing tasks in support of the sustainment of a large web-based application. Work with a team of software professionals to develop new functionality and correct software defects. Follow detailed lifecycle processes, utilizing best practices for configuration control and development practices. Maintain and extend JAVA-based applications which utilize MVC frameworks such as Tapestry and Struts and Oracle database backend. The following are the basic qualifications for this position: Extensive J2EE programming experience cz 3.0 is required. Experience integrating Tapestry with Spring/Hibernate is an asset. Resin application server experience is beneficial. Experience in the following areas is an asset: Travel industry experience, Progress 4GL, Subversion, Eclipse IDE, JIRA.
