Job Description: Seeking a Database Engineer for a temp-to-perm position in Clarksville, VAMust be a US Citizen and able to obtain a TS clearance Job Description: Job Description: The Database Engineer will be directly supporting the following: Design and implementation of Oracle and Structure Query Language (SQL) DBMS solutions in accordance with client and data center standards, policies and methodologies. Requirements: Working knowledge of a System Development Lifecycle methodology. Excellent oral and written communication skills. B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience • Communicate both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. • Interaction with clients, managers, and users with varying technical backgrounds in a fast paced work environment. • Provide oversight to operational personnel in setting up, implementing, and day to day operational support of the following database products:o SQL ·ÔSQL ·ÔOracle RAC ·ÔOracle Dataguard • Troubleshoot, optimize database performance, perform database Tier 3 maintenance, database backups and restore. • Disaster recovery scenario including preparation and implementation exercises to include but not limited to SQL and Oracle Qualifications: ·ÔExpert knowledge of the infrastructure required to provide database services. ·ÔMinimum 7+ years experience in the area of Microsoft SQL (2005 and 2007) and Oracle (10g & 11i). ·ÔMinimum 7+ years experience managing a large enterprise database environment (more than 10,000 users) ·ÔStrong knowledge and in-depth understanding of databases ·ÔWorking knowledge of hardware platforms. ·ÔExpert at root cause analysis, problem solving, and resolution. ·ÔStrong interpersonal, team, negotiation, communication, and customer service skills. ·ÔOpenness to coaching from supervisors and peers. ·ÔAble to serve as a technical liaison on matters relating to the database environment.
