Job Description: Functional Test EngineerLong term Arena Technical, LLC Salaried Position Location: Fairfax, VA U.S. Citizenship Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that software performs correctly as specified and meets quality and performance standards. The candidate will demonstrate strong independent problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and conceptual skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled dates. Core Responsibilities: -In-depth understanding of software testing principles and techniques. -Participate in all SDLC phases including design, development, test and post-production releases. -Analyze and interpret design specifications, business requirements and end-user feedback -Use application specifications to create robust test plans and test cases. -Perform User Interface, Functional, Integration, System and Regression testing. -Document and discuss test execution results and create defect tracking records for discovered problems. -Collaborate with Support and Development to research and test production issues. -Proficient with running SQL queries using tools Microsoft Query, Toad or command-line editors -Familiar with HP automated tools and able to create and run automated scripts using Quick Test Pro Required Skills: -First and foremost this person must be a self-starter, be able to be productive with minimal supervision, and must value self-learning. -Proficiency in source control systems, Programming skills, Expert knowledge of QA Methodology, highly organized and detail-oriented Minimum Qualifications: -4+ years of recent, formal testing experience -2+ years of automation with Quick Test Pro and Quality Center -BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in quality assurance
