Job Description: Java J2EEContract Position Alexandria, VA Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check Required Skills: Candidate must be skilled in JAVA technologies: To include JAVA, EJB, JDBC, Spring, Servlet, JSP, JNDI, JAXP. Must have experience in SQL development. Must have good communication skills as will be working with multi levels and an end client. Seeking a highly motivated and experienced JAVA developer with knowledge of both current and emerging technologies to assume a role as systems developer for application development initiatives targeting a J2EE environment. Candidate must be skilled in JAVA Technologies (JAVA, EJB, JDBC, Spring, Servlet, JSP, JNDI, JAXP, etc.) with excellent communication skills. Job duties include: ·ÔDevelop application using JAVA as needed ·ÔDiscuss and define requirements, design, and code reviews with management and client ·ÔDiagnose and resolve deployment and system problems ·ÔDesign, code, test, configure, maintain and document developed software ·ÔDesign and implement solutions using J2EE for web-based applications ·ÔDesign, implement and debug solutions using Hibernate or other Object Relational mapping tools ·ÔDesign, implement and debug DHTML/AJAX based applications ·ÔPerform unit and load testing of modules ·ÔIntegrate modules with those written by other developers ·ÔMaintain knowledge of industry best practices ·ÔDevelopment of business logic and data tie code, and other backend services as needed ·ÔWork independently and with others while developing code in a timely manner and in accordance with defined standards and practices ·ÔWork with multiple people to clarify desired functionality and help define specific requirements for new features ·ÔEnsure that underlying application technology meets both short-term and long-term business needs and that system designs can adapt to emerging business and technology demands ·ÔResearch and evaluate third party commercial technologies, products, software, and hardware to determine potential usefulness. ·ÔReview new and existing applications and present creative solutions or provide direction for strategic decisions regarding application platform and architecture ·ÔDocument and test all code changes. This may include unit testing, system testing, performance testing, and capacity testing ·ÔCommunicate with project managers as to the progress of open items and work with other developers, contractors, the database group, or other infrastructure resources as needed ·ÔWilling to perform other duties as assigned as there are often new projects that will arise and this individual must be able to adapt to change in requirements, new projects, and team counterparts ·ÔIndividual must be able to provide “after hours” support, as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. PLUSES Experience with BEA Weblogic and Oracle is a plus
