Description:
Standard Job DescriptionÔ Receive user requirements for telecommunications services and products. Design network solutions in accordance with those requirements which fit schedule, performance and budget constraints. Identify communications hardware and software interdependencies and resolve conflicts as appropriate. Manage large scale communications project implementations and migrations. Survey new communications technologies and service price trends and recommend changes to network architecture and topology as appropriate. Establish the necessary communications hardware and software infrastructure as necessary to support network applications including e-mail, file transfer, etc. Act as second level problem determination support for operations personnel.Ô
Specific Job DescriptionÔ Successful candidate will lead and manage ITIL v3 framework-based Communications Infrastructure Services for the NRC Program. Key responsibilities will include management of RIM BlackBerry, remote access, telecommunications (including wireless) and customized NRC wireless services and systems. Recent experience in a federal or DoD enterprise telecommunications / wireless / remote access and / or BlackBerry / PDA support or management role is a must! Position also requires experience in ITIL v3 framework service management processes. Job will be located in the DC metro area, in Montgomery County, Maryland. The agency supported has a nationwide operation including over 5500 users running MS Office 2007 on Windows 2003 Active Directory (with Novell NOS being migrated out) and supports wireless PDA / BlackBerry services from all four major providers. This position requires a polished systems engineer with a four year technical degree and specialization in the areas listed above. Prior Microsoft products / environment, telecomm / remote access / PDA and / or ITIL service management/ service desk Tier 2 support is highly desired. Must be clearable to work at NRC and must have excellent communications and customer skills
Typical MinimumsÔ Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
Ô Required skillsÔ Must be a US CitizenITIL Foundation CertificationAt least 7 years experience supporting or leading diverse fedeal / DoD communications services provision and support
Ô Desired skillsÔ Computer Science or Computer Engineering 4 year degree. At least 9 years experience in large federal IT infrastructure support programs / contracts, in the diverse comms support area.Excellent work ethic, leadership, and management skills. Self starter, team player, confident communicator before executive customer and audiences of peersITIL Intermediate CertificationNRC Customer experience
