Standard Job DescriptionÔ Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.Ô
Specific Job DescriptionÔ Successful candidate will lead and manage ITIL v3 framework-based Hosting and Admin Services support team for the NRC Program. Key responsibilities will include management of NRC High Performance Computing infrastructure and services; computer facilities (server farm) support and management; NSIR operations center management; data center system administration; and all NCR infrastructure server & storage management. Recent experience in a federal or DoD enterprise IT infrastructure service management / data center / high per support role is required. Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced federal customer IT enterprise environment is strongly desired. Position also requires experience in ITIL v3 framework service management processes. Job will be located in the DC metro area, in Montgomery County, Maryland. The agency supported has a nationwide operation including over 5500 users running MS Office 2007 on Windows 2003 Active Directory (with Novell NOS being migrated out). This position requires a systems engineer with a four year technical degree. Prior Microsoft products / environment (with some UNIX) is highly desired. Must be clearable to work at NRC and must have excellent communications and customer skills
Typical MinimumsÔ Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
Ô Required skillsÔ Must be a US CitizenMust have current MCSE (Windows 2003)Some UNIX sys admin experience or training. At least 3 years experience supporting federal / DoD contract deskside services Ô Desired skillsÔ Computer Science or Computer Engineering 4 year degree. At least 7 years experience in large federal IT infrastructure support programs / contracts.Excellent work ethic, leadership, and management skills. Self starter, team player, confident communicator before executive customer and audiences of peers ITIL Foundation CertificationUNIX certification(s)NRC Customer experience
