Job Description
The network engineer is a direct support of the application. He/she will be the primary Senior Network Engineer. Responsibilities include planning, evaluating and implementing complex network systems, architectures, and engineering applications across various WAN transport technologies including ATM, MPLS, or IP-based networks that support world-wide operations. Individual will be responsible to ensure all engineering and system installations meet the guidelines of best practices, security requirements and the intent of the requirement. He/she will participate in the updating and maintenance of all documentation. Provide technical analysis in data network planning, engineering and design, using implementation techniques and tools to determine the most efficient solution to network problems. The selected candidate must be proficient in the development of comprehensive and detailed drawings, using Microsoft Visio, to document end-to-end and circuit path for maintaining both Local and Wide Area Networks. The selected candidate will provide in depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, Cisco routers, switches and Cisco IOS. The selected candidate will have a solid understanding of and experience using network management protocols (SNMP) systems. Experience in network security a plus.  Experience with F5 and Juniper Network equipment is required. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a demonstrated ability to determine evaluate and diagnose routing and performance issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skill required. The selected candidate must have the ability to excel and achieve consensus in a team environment.

Education Requirements:
The candidate must meet the following education and/or related experience requirements:
·Ô13 years of hands-on network administration and engineering experience
·ÔBachelor's degree with 9 years of hands-on network administration and engineering experience
·ÔMaster's degree with 7 years of hands-on network administration and engineering experience
·ÔPh.D. degree with 4 years of hands-on network administration and engineering experience

Labor Description: Responsible for planning, evaluating and implementing complex network systems, architectures, and engineering applications across various WAN transport technologies including ATM, MPLS, or IP-based networks that support world-wide operations. The Network Engineer will provide technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design. Network Engineer provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems. The Network Engineer will maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Coordinates third-party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoots problems with department users and department network administrators. The Network Engineer may develop uniform standard operation procedures.

The candidate will demonstrate strong independent problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and conceptual skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled dates. The Network Engineer must be able to adapt in a rapid changing environment, a fast learner and self-starter. Excellent written and communication skills and can work independently and well within groups.

Requirements:
§ÔAbility to analyze data
§ÔMinimum 4 years hands-on experience with Cisco and other Network equiptment
§ÔMinimum 5 years experience on Unix based networks
§ÔMinimum 2 years experience with F5 and Juniper Network protocols
§ÔMinimum of 2 years experience with WAN transport technologies including ATM, MPLS, or IP-based
§ÔCisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is required
§ÔUS citizen eligible for a secret clearance

Assets:
§ÔWindow NT Network experience is a plus
§ÔCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is a plus
