Job Title: Marine Gas Turbine Inspector

Location: Norfolk, VA

Clearance Required: Top Secret Clearance Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

Job Description:

Provide hands on Marine Gas Turbine Inspector and mechanical support for Gas Turbines, Gas Turbine Controls, and associated support systems equipment. Support includes but is not limited to the performance of normal checks, inspections, assessments, grooms, repairs, troubleshooting, technical oversight, casualty repairs and performance of other technical duties as required.

Experience Requirements:

1. Completion of U.S. Navy school(s) for Gas Turbine equipment.
2. Certification as a Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI).
3. High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational/military training.
4. Associates Degree preferred.
5. NAVSEA certified for copper and Fiber Optic connectors is a plus.

1. Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the operation, repair, maintenance, and assessment of Marine Gas Turbines, Control Systems, and Support Systems.
2. Must possess a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes, and reporting methods.
3. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and control schematics.
4. Ability to utilize current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
5. Minimum of four (4) years specialized hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, assessment and repair of Marine Gas Turbines, Control Systems, and Support Systems.
6. Minimum of three (3) years Administrator Level experience with the U.S. Navy online logbook application - Weblog (including entering technical directives, validating OpHours, and training others to use the application).
7. Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a certified Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) in accordance with OPNAVINST 9220.
8. Must be able to run Roll-Royce Utilities for analysis of data from the Full Authority Digital Control (FADC) system for U.S. Navy Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs).
9. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite. Working conditions: Some portions of the work is typically performed in an industrial, shipboard, or shipyard environment which requires proper safety precautions. The work requires moderate physical effort in the handling of materials, tools, cables and other equipment.
