Job Title: Electromechanical Technician
Location: Norfolk, VA
Clearance Required: Top Secret Clearance Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
Job Description:
Provide hands on technical support for electro-hydraulic and electromechanical systems support of Deck Machinery code equipment. Support includes but is not limited to the performance of normal checks, inspections, assessments, grooms, repairs, troubleshooting, technical oversight, casualty repairs and performance of other technical duties as required.
Experience Requirements:
1. Completion of U.S. Navy school(s) for U.S. Naval Ships' Electro-Hydraulic and Electro-Mechanical Systems equipment including but not limited to cranes, davits, stern gates, steering gear, fin stabilizers, anchor windlass, and ramps. 2. High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational/military training. 3. Associates Degree preferred. 4. NAVSEA certified for copper and F0iber Optic connectors is a plus. 1. Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of U.S. Naval Ships' Electro-Hydraulic and Electro-Mechanical Systems including but not limited to cranes, davits, stern gates, steering gear, fin stabilizers, anchor windlass, and ramps. 2. Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of hydraulic components and equipment such as pumps (radial piston, axial piston, vane, and gear-types), motors (piston), and valves (spool, solenoid and pilot-operated types) manufactured by Eaton/Vickers, Denison and Hagglund hydraulic systems. 3. Minimum of five (5) years experience with technical writing, and with preparing and delivering briefs. 4. Minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting research for design, repair, and logistics related issues for deck machinery. 5. Familiarity with Naval and OEM technical requirements, and extensive experience with NAVSEA drawing development and application. 6. Must possess a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes, and reporting methods. 7. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and control schematics. 8. Ability to utilize current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment. 9. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.Working conditions: Some portions of the work is typically performed in an industrial, shipboard, or shipyard environment which requires proper safety precautions. The work requires moderate physical effort in the handling of materials, tools, cables and other equipment. Education Requirements:
