Job Description: job Title: Automatic Boiler Controls TechnicianLocation: Norfolk, VA Clearance Required: Top Secret Clearance Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Job Description: Provide hands on technical support for Automatic Boiler Controls, associated support equipment and other main propulsion equipment. Support includes but is not limited to the performance of normal checks, inspections, assessments, grooms, repairs, troubleshooting, technical oversight, casualty repairs and performance of other technical duties as required. Experience Requirements: 1.Minimum of four (4) years recent experience in the troubleshooting, operation, maintenance, assessment, repair and installation of pneumatically operated Automatic Boiler Controls. Any experience with Hagan Feed pump Controls is a plus. 2. Minimum of four (4) years of specialized experience in the troubleshooting, operation, maintenance, assessment, repair, and installation of electronically operated Automatic Boiler Controls including Chameleon Digital Electronic Boiler Controls. 3. Minimum of two (2) years specialized experience in the operation, maintenance, assessment, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of Main Propulsion and support equipment including feed pumps, lube oil (LO) / fuel oil (FO) pumps / purifiers and associated controls. 4. Must possess a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs (including INSURVs), visit processes, and reporting methods. 5. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and control schematics. 6. Ability to utilize current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment. 7. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite. Education Requirements: 1. Completion of U.S. Navy school(s) for Automatic Boiler Controls. 2. High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational/military training. 3. Associates Degree preferred. 4. NAVSEA certified for copper and Fiber Optic connectors is a plus.
