Description:
Job Duties/Functions (brief summary of major responsibilities): The operation and maintenance support shall include, but not be limited to the following: Architect solutions for current configurations per requests from FBI on HP hardware and software. Provide recommendations and solutions for HP related EMS tool suites Resolve or assist in the resolution of all HP related hardware or software issues escalated by HP Operations and Maintenance support contractor. Provide an overall architecture of current and future state to help identify current tool suite for replacement
· Tune Network Node Manager (NNM) to provide only top 10 events · Integrate Network Node Manager (NNM) events into Operations for Windows · Monitor syslog server events · Perform maintenance on all implemented HP EMS tools routinely · Continue to optimize the performance of implemented HP EMS tools · Assist the FBI with the installation of any FBI purchased enhancements to the HP related EMS tool suite. · Tune Operations Manager for Windows -Restrictions (anything that would restrict who could be selected): · U.S. Citizenship · Top Secret Clearance · Current Operations Manager/Network Node Manager management experience
Qualifications Education and Experience Required: 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total). Knowledge and Skills Required: Skillsets and Experience. 1a. Required (Bare Minimum): · OM - Install, upgrade, agent installation, upgrade, HTTPS/certificates, OVO database install/configure, Manager of managers configuration, policy/template creation, trouble-shooting, integrations to NNM and Service Manager, OS SPI, DB SPI, and any other SPIs (Oracle/VMware/SQL etc.) · NNM/NNMi - Install, discovery filters and configuration, event integration and configuration, trap templates, map creation, trouble-shooting · PI - Architecture, install, report packs install and configure, data gathering customizations, custom report creation, trouble-shooting, upgrade · ITIL - change and config mgmt process, CMDB/CI, RFC · UCMDB - Design, Install, upgrade, Foundation Discovery, TQLs, View/Mapping, Enrichments, Correlation rules, Performance tuning/optimization · RC - Install, Service Desk integration (at least SM7; PPM, Remedy plus), UCMDB integration, definition of criteria over the out of the box, DB integration · Use of Connect it - install and configuration · OS admin skills - HPUX, Solaris, Windows - enough knowledge to talk to Sys Admin about monitoring and to get around in OS, install products, etc Ô
· Database admin skills - Oracle, MS SQL - enough knowledge to talk to a DBA about monitoring of database and configure SPIs · Network knowledge - SNMP protocol, routing protocols, networking hardware and capabilities · Scripting - perl, shell, and vbscript - don't have to be an expert, but need to be able to read scripting, edit, and reuse. · Interviewing and information gathering skills · Understanding of various network and application architectures and technologies (able to talk to enterprise architects) · Familiar with technologies for virtualization, storage/SAN, clustering · Middleware/J2EE - Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss, JMX protocol · Familiar with products like MQ, Tibco, BizTalk, etc. and their architecture · Packaged Apps - PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, OracleApps and their architecture · Web Services and XML 1b. Desired (Nice to Have): · Interviewing and information gathering skills · Understanding of various network and application architectures and technologies (able to talk to enterprise architects) · Networking - SNMP, SSH, WMI, NetBIOS, TCP/IP protocols, Firewalls/DMZs, Layer2 stack · OS - different flavors of Unix (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, Linux) and Windows · Legacy - familiar with Mainframe, AS400 · Familiar with technologies for virtualization, storage/SAN, clustering · Database - different database types (Sybase, Oracle, SQL, DB2) · Middleware/J2EE - Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss, JMX protocol · Familiar with products like MQ, Tibco, BizTalk, etc. and their architecture · Packaged Apps - PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, OracleApps and their architecture · Scripting(/Programming) - Jython/Python, Javascript, (Java), UNIX shell scripting, SQL, XML · Admin - basic Windows and Unix adminstration Ô
