Job Description: TitleSenior Project Management Consultant Reports To Director, Project Management Primary Location Reston with meetings in MD (Timonium, Annapolis, Baltimore, etc.) as necessary Job Summary The Senior Project Management Consultant conducts comprehensive independent verification and validation (IV&V) assessments of multi-million dollar IT projects, evaluating project risks and identifying corrective actions necessary to optimize project performance. The Senior Project Management Consultant documents and presents findings and recommendations and serves as the primary point of contact with clients. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Lead and execute IV&V projects - Evaluate clients’ multi-million dollar IT projects to determine application of project management best practices, assess project risks, and identify recommendations to optimize project performance - Write IV&V reports and present findings to clients - Manage and contribute to other projects as assigned - Serve as the primary client interface for assigned projects Requirements - Mandatory - At least ten years of project management experience, five of which must be in managing IT related projects - Experience managing at least three successful IT projects that were delivered on time and within budget - Minimum of three years of experience performing IV&V or equivalent quality assurance work on multi-million dollar IT development projects - At least five years of experience in government contracting with direct customer interaction - Active PMP certification - Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and efficiently Requirements – Desired - Experience managing a range of IT project types including systems development, COTS integration, and infrastructure-related experience - Experience managing IT projects for both federal and state government
