Our client is looking for a Quality Analyst for a full time position in Alexandria, VA.
Looking for a Quality Analyst to provide testing and quality assurance on web projects. Candidates must have a strong willingness to improve system performance and assure quality systems delivered by our client. Skillful communication, organization, and a customer service oriented attitude are a must. Candidates must have experience on web projects in a testing or analyst role. Expertise with content management (CMS), online publishing, online advocacy, e-commerce or CRM systems is very helpful. Candidates must have prior experience in the testing and implementation of web applications and a strong understanding if internet technologies. Candidates must have 3 years of applicable experience.
Basic Function: Responsible for testing, quality assurance, verification activities, client training, and ongoing customer support.
Job Summary Statement: Quality Analyst performs testing and quality assurance activities, as well as documentation and training on web-based systems. Responsibilities include carrying out the client’s process for issue resolution, communicating issues to the development team, and serving as a first point of contact for customers requiring assistance during the transition of projects. Quality Analyst will have the responsibilities in all phases of the software development life cycle, but particularly during the transition of systems including: quality assurance, system and user documentation, performing aesthetic, functional, and cross-browser testing, supporting implementation and resolution of issues, training of system users, and establishing a level of trust with customers that he/she is able to assure the quality of the product being delivered. Analyst also supports clients through training, content migration, and transition activities.
Responsibilities: 1. Become functional expert on custom web systems. 2. Perform functional testing and quality assurance. 3. Perform design and user experience testing across multiple OS/browser platforms. 4. Keep track of system issues in the clients issue tracking system. 5. Prepare documentation and training materials. 6. Deliver client training in person and remotely via web conference. 7 Support client closely during the transition phase of projects. 8. Assist and organize content migration activities. 9. Respond quickly to customer support requests and triage bug reports. 10. Assist clients with personal training when appropriate. 11. Make recommendations for system improvements and new features. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications 1. Must possess at least 3 years of IT project experience. 2. Must possess at least 2 years of experience with testing and/or business analyst responsibilities. 3. Requires experience testing web-based systems. 4. Requires experience developing system and user documentation. 5. Must have experience communicating with system users. 6. Requires an understanding of basic Internet technologies. 7. Knowledge of life cycle processes to include planning, analysis, design, testing, etc. 8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 9. Requires proven ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. 10. Requires strong communication (verbal and written) skills with team members and clients. 11. Candidate must have the proven ability to manage time while working on a variety of tasks. 12. Must communicate effectively with team members. 13. Possess an interest in learning new technologies and practices when applicable. 14. Possess a willingness and attitude to help customers find workable solutions.
Desired Skills: 1. Understanding and experience with iterative application development including Agile development methodologies such as Extreme Programming (XP), and/or phased iterative methodology such as the Rational Unified Process (RUP). 2. Knowledge of full life cycle development processes or CMMI is helpful. 3. Experience documenting web and content management system features is helpful. 4. Experience leading and facilitating training sessions is a plus. 5. Experience providing direct customer support is a plus. 6. Understanding and experience with online publishing, open government, non-profit or advocacy business practices is a plus. 7. Knowledge of web-based solutions including data driven websites/portals, web services, content management systems (CMS), contact relationship management (CRM), e-commerce (EC), membership management and online community solutions. 8. IT Development and/or consulting background a plus, though not required.
