Job Description: Job Title: Datacenter Lead Systems Administration ExpertLocation: Kansas City, MO Clearance Required: Secret Job Description: Client is designing, building, integrating and providing operations support the first Marine Corps Enterprise IT Services Datacenter, which will support the data processing requirements for the entire U.S. Marine Corps.The program center provides application hosting capabilities, enterprise shared services, access to enterprise-wide information, collaboration and information sharing across business and warfighter domains.The program will provide the Marine Corps with a modernized IT-enabled capability for use in enterprise and expeditionary environments. This will include implementation of an IT infrastructure with application, service and data environments. Additionally, program will deliver an IT infrastructure that can quickly, easily and securely adapt to evolving software, hardware, data, services and management requirements while providing an enhanced enterprise visibility that facilitates greater reuse of IT assets.This person will join the program team as the functional expert for Datacenter operational Systems Administration activities and be responsible for all top level technical aspects of systems administration pertaining to servers, network gear, and storage systems in a large data center environment, including implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, backup, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures. This person will make recommendations on future design for systems growth and coordinate offsite disaster recovery implementation.The Lead Systems Administrator expert will support activities as directed by the Operations Manager within the Enterprise IT Center (EITC). Experience Requirements: This person will also be involved with software and hardware production releases and Request For Changes through the ITIL-based Planning staff located in Quantico VA and the Systems Integration Environment in Kansas City MO. The Lead Systems Administrator expert provides regular metrics & reports to ensure Service Levels are documented and reported to the Program of Record. 1. Serves as a top level technical or functional expert supporting one or more clients and unlimited user groups. 2. Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies. 3. Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals. 4. Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes. Candidates are encouraged to apply with knowledge of HP blade servers and associated hardware systems with experience in a large datacenter environment. Position requires a DoD SECRET clearance. This position is in Kansas City, MO working with the USMC. DoD experience is preferred with knowledge of the Marine Corps IT environment.ITIL Foundations training preferred. Education Requirements: 1. Bachelors Degree in a related discipline. 2. Masters Degree preferred. 3. This position requires Information Assurance Training (IAT) level II certification (for example, GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP)..
