Job Description: Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer, Datacenter Test EnvironmentLocation: Kansas City, MO Clearance Required: Secret Job Description: Client is designing, building, integrating and providing operations support the first Marine Corps Enterprise IT Services Datacenter, which will support the data processing requirements for the entire U.S. Marine Corps.The program center provides application hosting capabilities, enterprise shared services, access to enterprise-wide information, collaboration and information sharing across business and warfighter domains.The program will provide the Marine Corps with a modernized IT-enabled capability for use in enterprise and expeditionary environments. This will include implementation of an IT infrastructure with application, service and data environments. Additionally, program will deliver an IT infrastructure that can quickly, easily and securely adapt to evolving software, hardware, data, services and management requirements while providing an enhanced enterprise visibility that facilitates greater reuse of IT assets.The Lead System Administrator oversees the maintenance and operation of system infrastructure components for the Systems Integration Environment (SIE)...which is the Testing/Pre-Production Environment. This person is responsible for ensuring that all computing, network, and storage components are available for use by the Test Management and Operations group. In addition he must coordinate Tier III support requests with the Operations Manager. The Lead Systems Administrator is responsible for evaluating any support requests where investigation and classification of the problem is required to assign the correct resources for resolution. The Lead Systems Administrator will also coordinate Modeling and Simulation requirements in support of interface testing, network loading, and system performance analysis. Any other infrastructure requirements identified by the Engineering Services, or Test Management and Operations groups will be reviewed by the Lead Systems Administrator who will manage the procurement and/or provisioning of those resources. Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Experience Requirements: 1.ÔPerforms complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering. 2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. 3. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients. 4. Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements. 5. Develops documentation on new or existing systems. 6. Develops and directs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements. 7. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems. 8. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. 9. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities. 11. Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met. 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 13. Including: • Transition Planning • Service Validation & Testing • Release & Deployment Management • Service Asset Configuration ManagementThis position requires Information Assurance Training (IAT) level II certification (for example, GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP). Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
