Job Description: Job Title: Principal Systems EngineerLocation: Quantico, VA Clearance Required: Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Job Description: Core responsibilities include the initial set up and ongoing maintenance of hardware, software, and network devices for a virtualized environment used for systems integration and test events. Required skills: - VMware ESX Server 4, infrastructure and configuration - VMware VirtualCenter - VMware HA and DRS - Windows 2008 Server - Active Directory Desired skills: - Cisco based routing and switching - Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 - Microsoft Exchange 2007 - HP SiteScope - Adobe Connect Enterprise Server - Jabber XCP Server - Microsoft Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) - Microsoft Systems Center - Microsoft SQL Server - Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition/McAfee ePO Recent professional experience shall include comprehensive end user support in network design, hardware/software selection, integration, inter/intra network data communications, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Responsibilities include: - Providing expert technical and analytical services to accomplish comprehensive support defined within the scope of the task. - Integrating aforementioned software in a virtualized environment. - Developing and directing test events to ensure systems meet documented user requirements. - Assisting in network and server engineering, design, configuration management and day-to-day operational support of servers that support the USMC enterprise. - Collaboration with Information Assurance to facilitate the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). - Providing subject matter expertise and assisting with the development of system documentation and deliverables. - Reviewing completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and making recommendations to management and/or customer. - Planning and directing upgrades of operating systems and design system enhancements as required. - Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems. - Providing system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. - Determining system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility as needed. - Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. - Participating in special projects as required. Experience Requirements: 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience. ITIL Foundations certification and MCSE preferred. Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
