Job Description: 2 - Junior Software EngineersLocation: Herndon, VA Contract: 7 months+ Must be a US Citizen Immediate opening for 2 junior software engineer to join a fast-paced, Agile development team. The candidate will be an integrated member of a team responsible for performing all the tasks essential to delivering a quality product in a timely manner. Basic Qualifications required: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred * Experience working with design and coding languages * Experience working with software design principles * Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills to resolve highly complex software design issues and create new software for one or more products * Good interpersonal skills to interact with management, and team members The candidate's functions will include the following: 1. Develop J2EE Java applications on Windows desktop systems for deployment to Solaris servers. 2. Leverage Adobe Flex technologies for developing rich web based applications. 3. Develop data driven web applications, participating in design and development of new applications and transitioning existing applications to new architectures. 4. Integrate commercial and open source products. Preferred Qualifications for the candidate: * Experience administering Oracle or other data base platforms. * Experience developing Java-based web services * Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Experience with Java XML Parsing (DOM, SAX, SOAP) * Candidates should be innovative, creative, flexible, self-directed, and understand how to design and write elegant, high-performance, reliable and maintainable J2EE/J2EE applications code. * Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, understanding of core J2EE design patterns * Desirable: experience in Spring, Hibernate, JSF, Tapestry, LDAP/JNDI/JAAS, AJAX & advanced JavaScript/DHTML, understanding of security and web policies for DoD, use of Eclipse, SVN, Ant, Maven, JUnit, WebLogic, JBoss, JSR-168 Portlets.
