Job Description: Job Title: Lab EngineerLocation: Stafford, VA Clearance Required: DoD Secret Clearance Job Description: The candidate will provide technical expertise in LAN administration, VMware configuration, Linux configuration, hardware and software technical support analysis, operating systems configuration, communications and network systems analysis, configuration management, general end user support and training, systems analysis, data security analysis, software quality analysis, office automation, and network operations. Designs, analyzes, plans, and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. Provide top tier support for local and remote staff in support of computing and telecom issues.The candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialized IT services and necessary support documentation. The candidate shall provide expert technical and analytical services to accomplish comprehensive support. The candidate shall maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise and take a proactive approach to minimize risk in managing the networks and production servers to ensure on-going technical and engineering services are maintained; integration of new requirements and technologies are achieved; and overarching system architectural issues are managed and coordinated as required. Candidate must have the ability to think creatively and to speak and write clearly. Experience Requirements: • Expertise in VMware infrastructure and configuration, RedHat Linux, Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Windows 7, MS Exchange 2007, and Cisco networking. • 10+ years of progressive LAN or network engineering experience. • Experience shall include comprehensive end user support in network design, hardware/software selection, integration, inter/intra network data communications, troubleshooting, and problem resolution • Demonstrated customer service experience • Demonstrated troubleshooting / problem solving experience at server, desktop, and network levelsTechnologies: • RedHat Linux operating systems • VMware ESX Server and VMware VirtualCenter installation and configuration for enterprise deployment and support • Comprehensive Microsoft Active Directory knowledge and experience is desired. • Comprehensive Cisco network routing and switching experience is desired. Education Requirements: Requires BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
