Job Description: EMC Storage Engineering Skillset with Replication and Migration ExperienceSr. Enterprise Storage Engineer – EMC General Summary The Sr. Enterprise Storage Engineer will be responsible for Architecture, Technical Design and Implementation of Storage Solutions for Managed Storage and Dedicated Storage Services including Storage Arrays, Replication Appliances, Fibre Channel switches and associated Cloning, Snap and Replication Software. The Sr. Enterprise Storage Engineer will work closely with Xerox Customer Solution Architects and Designers to validate Storage Solutions for new business. They will also provide guidance to Steady State Storage Administrators when problems arise or when transitioning newly deployed environments to Day to Day Operational Support Teams. Essential Functions: Architect, Design, Plan and Implement Storage Technologies, SAN Disaster Recovery Technologies, Business Continuity Components and Procedures. Provide for Growth and Upgrade Cycles of Storage Related Hardware Design, Plan and Implement Migration Services for Upgrade Cycles and New Customer Transitions using multiple migration methodologies Works with multiple teams (Storage, DBA, Servers, Networks and applications) and ITO Managers, Directors, VPs and Project Managers to deliver Storage solutions. Mentor Steady State Storage Administrators The qualified candidate will have 5+ years of experience designing enterprise storage solutions, developing storage migration designs and overseeing large migrations between data centers. The candidate must have a proven record with solving complex storage performance issues, possess the ability to develop and automate capacity planning functions. The candidate will be responsible to work independently and drive storage design end-to-end for large projects and migrations. The Ideal Candidate will have the ability to work in a face paced environment and is highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and excellent technical skills. The candidate must have previous experience working with EMC Storage, including design, deployment and configuration management. Experience working with HDS, HP and NetApp Storage Technology is a plus. Education/Skills/Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. • Requires at least 5 years’ experience in Storage Management • Technical Knowledge of the following: EMC DMX, VMAX, CX, NS and Centera Storage EMC SRDF, Recover Point, ECC, TimeFinder, FASTVP Fibre Channel Director Class Switches • Knowledge of various operating systems. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and VISIO. • Knowledge of service ticket requests utilizing software such as Remedy. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business users in a professional manner.
