Active Top Secret Clearance SCI - TS/SCI is required
We are seeking at least two administrators to support our government customer in Charlottesville, VA. For those of you who have been seeking an opportunity to go someplace with less traffic, less hustle/bustle and serene countryside here is your chance! Charlottesville offers slower pace, good schools and lower cost of living than many major metro areas.
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for administering UNIX workstations and servers as well as providing input into architecture design, implementation and planning.
Person should specialize in Unix system (Solaris 9/10).
LDAP architecture design and implementation a plus.
Additional Expertise required:
Knowledge, skills, and ability in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of Solaris workstations and servers.
Scripting, Solaris security and JEDI experience is desirable.
Knowledge and experience with storage management, backup and restore procedures using Veritas Netbackup, ISSE Guard, and Network Appliance Data Ontap a plus.
Participate as an Information Technology Specialist on the UNIX Team assisting with planning, engineering, development, and implementation of information technology capabilities.
Candidate should be able to independently plan, coordinate, evaluate, develop and implement high-level infrastructure initiatives as well as perform day-to-day system administration; develop and maintain UNIX infrastructure standards, and investigate new technologies and products for possible implementation within the complex IT architecture.

3.Sets up administrator and service accounts.
4.Maintains system documentation
5.Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
6.Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
7.Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
8.May program in an administrative language.
9.Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
10.Provides advice and training to end-users.
11.Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
12.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
13.Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
DoD 8570 IAT I compliance required. Prefer Comptia Security+ and Solaris or Linux certifications.
