A year after I'd decided to leave, my phone rang: they wanted me to retrieve excess furniture, displays, and computers. That's how I ended up with the servers we’d used for the last decade. In other words: all of our candidate and client data.
In less than a heartbeat, I knew all I needed was people on my team. So I started making calls. And ATR was born. Again.”

Coming to work every morning is easy when you genuinely like what you do. At ATR, we like it partly because we know we participate in developing the processes and tools for anyone to be successful, but mostly, we like it because we have a whole lot of fun doing it.
CEO - Managing Partner
Ralph L. Lary, III is the Managing Partner/ Founder of Arena Technical Resources, LLC (ATR) in Rockville Md., and is responsible for the executive management of a full service information technology consulting and staffing company. Prior to ATR, he was the Vice President and General Manager, DC Region, for Spherion, a global technology services company, and Senior Consultant with Price Waterhouse. Ralph is a University of Maryland, College Park graduate, with a Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Master's of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing. Ralph grew up and still resides in Potomac, Maryland, and when he's not working at ATR he enjoys working on Laryland, his family farm in Maine, and spending time with his wife Nancy and two sons, Leon and Roswell.
CFO - Partner
Nancy Lary earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and received a Master's in Business Administration. Nancy began her career in Economic Research before entering the Price Waterhouse Office of Government Services management consulting. Ms. Lary was hired from Price Waterhouse to create the IT department at a fast growing Dental Benefit company and eventually was promoted to Vice President of IT and Claims Processing. Nancy retired for a few years to raise her two sons who both graduated from the United States Naval Academy and continue to serve in the Navy as Nuclear Officers. Ms Lary returned to work for Arena Technical Resources in Human Resources and Financial Management. She continues in this function today and has been with ATR for 12 years.
COO - Partner
Charles joined ATR in January 2009 and works to continue to grow the company with a focus on day-to-day operations and business development. He continues to deliver services to Fortune 50 companies and work with smaller businesses in growing their companies. Charles is extremely passionate about the industry and enjoys working with individuals and organizations helping them make best informed decisions. Charles sits on the Board of Directors for ImagineBC, a collaborative project built by entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and dreamers. Charles graduated with his Bachelor's in Communication from University of Maryland. He is a die hard Terps and Skins fan! In his spare time you can find him and his wife chasing their two young kids around parks or ball fields.
Partner
Mike became a partner in 2005 (ATR began in 2002) with business partner Ralph Lary III and Charles Tenly. Now in its fourteenth year of business, ATR continues to grow organically year over year by refining the successful business model process that has been the backbone of the company's success. Mike and his wife, have two children one currently a college sophomore and one working in health care. In his spare time, Mike enjoys golf, running and traveling. Family and friends say that Mike is 'incredibly positive'and approaches his personal life as well as his business with a can-do attitude.

Brett was born in Washington, D.C. and moved around throughout his childhood, living in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Georgia before moving back to Maryland and graduating from Winston Churchill High School. He then went on to obtain his Bachelors in Business Administration from Auburn University and is an avid Auburn sports fan. He began his career at ATR in 2010 and has over 10 years of experience in the staffing and recruiting industry. As a Partner at ATR, Brett prides himself on developing strong relationships with both clients and internal ATR staff. Brett loves spending time with his wife, Heather, and two children, Saylor and Vince and soon to be baby girl. War Eagle!
Partner
Born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, Matt has been working at ATR as a Technical Recruiter since early 2015. Talking to new people and helping connect IT professionals with exciting opportunities drives him on a daily basis. Outside of working at ATR, you will usually find Matt at one of three places: College Park to watch Maryland Terrapins Football & Basketball; Chinatown to root for the Washington Capitals at Verizon Center; or playing a round of golf at his home course TPC Potomac.
Account Manager
Brian is from New Windsor, Maryland and is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies. During his time at the University of Maryland he played Offensive Line on the Football team. He enjoys being outdoors and traveling and is a big Terps and Redskins fan. Brian was an intern at ATR during the summer of 2018 and is excited to be a part of the team again.
Account Manager
Meredith is a Virginia native who joined ATR in 2020 after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Before stepping into her career with the ATR team, she gained industry knowledge through internships and coursework, networking skills through sorority life with Phi Mu, volunteerism with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and a goal-oriented determination as a competitive athlete. Each of her experiences has helped sculpt a passion to connect with new people and make an impact, whether it is furthering a candidate’s career or supporting a client to identify the right talent. During her time off, you can find Meredith buzzing around the DC area or traveling to exciting new destinations across the world.

Devon graduated from Virginia Tech in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. During her time at Virginia Tech, Devon was on the board of directors for the Hospitality Management Association, helping to shape the university’s program. Prior to discovering her passion in the staffing industry, Devon was an Event Manager for Marriott International at the largest convention hotel in Washington, DC, planning and executing events for 1,000+ people! She enjoys nothing more than cultivating connections, building relationships, and making an impact in the lives of those around her, which she has found she has the opportunity to do every day at ATR! Devon has traveled to over 16 countries and hopes to continue to build on that list in the coming years. When she isn’t smilin’ and dialin’, you can find her exploring local attractions, trying out new recipes, or spending time with family and friends. Go Hokies!

Ian is a Scranton, Pennsylvania native who graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Labor and Employment Relations in Spring 2021. Ian joined ATR in 2022 and when he is not working on connecting candidates with their dream job, you can probably find him spending time with friends and family, traveling or at a sporting event. He is a die hard Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers and Penn State football fan and tries to get to as many games as possible. Ian is thrilled to be a part of the ATR team and can’t wait to help connect candidates with the job of their dreams.

Michael is from Woodbine, Maryland and is a recent graduate from the University of South Carolina. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management with a minor in Business Administration. He previously worked with the University of South Carolina’s Athletic Department as a Marketing intern before he joined ATR in the Spring of 2021. Michael loves to travel and visit new places and is also a big sports fanatic. His favorite teams are the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Nationals. He is very outgoing and loves to form new relationships with candidates and find them the best opportunities possible.

Kelly was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Sales & Meeting Management from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kelly has worked for almost 10 years in the Catering and Hospitality industry. Due to recent events she has found herself reinventing her career. She is thrilled to bring her zest for life and driven work ethic to ATR. Kelly loves spending time with her son, Cooper, her husband, Taylor, who is the Executive Sous Chef at Columbia Country Club and their basset hound, Jack! Her favorite place to go is Bethany Beach, Delaware to relax with her parents. Kelly loves Maryland Terrapin Football & Basketball and is working on yelling “Fore” less in her golf game!

Michael is a New Windsor, MD native and a recent University of Maryland graduate. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Policy with a double minor in Sustainability and History. An old soul, he is always trying to catch up on classic books and old movies. Michael enjoys crabbing and spending time with family, and he likes travel but has not done very much of it recently. He is very excited to be a part of the ATR team!

Human Resources Manager - FSO
Aileen was born and raised in Rockville, MD and is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, where she was the manager of the basketball team for two years. After college, she moved back home and almost immediately took up a position at ATR as an IT recruiter. After a year working there, she decided to move into more of an HR role and has been there ever since. Aileen has continued to climb the HR ranks and is now ATR's Human Resource Manager and FSO! On the weekends she loves to hang out with friends and coworkers and is always up for an adventure.
