Systems Administrator

Job Title: Systems Administrator

Location: Silver Spring, MD - Hybrid Remote - Primarily remote with occasional work at our data center in

Silver Spring and occasional on-site meetings in downtown Bethesda

Eligibility: H-1B Holders, Green Card Holders, and US Citizens are eligible





Job Description:



- Install and upgrade Linux and Windows servers



- Assess the stability, security, and scalability of Linux and Windows

systems



- Troubleshoot firewall and network policies (LAN, WAN, VPN)



- Review system error logs and user-reported errors



- Manage user access and maintain server architecture security



- Support staff and back-end system users and developers



- Create and monitor system backups



- Create and troubleshoot shell scripts



- Create and monitor automation scripts



- Work with relational databases to ensure seamless data storage and

retrieval.



Key Skills and Qualifications:



- Advanced Linux skills



- Strong shell programming/bash scripting



- Backups (rsync over ssh)



- Experience with databases, preferably PostgreSQL



- System performance monitoring, preferably Nagios



- DNS (bind/Win DNS)



- Samba and NFS



- Have a car and be able to lift at least 55 pounds

- Experience at a data center
