Job Title: Platform Engineer – MSP Systems Administrator

Job Location: Remote – United States

Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000 salary, PTO, benefits, etc.

Eligibility/Clearance: Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Platform Engineer to join a managed services
team supporting a diverse, multi-tenant client base. This senior,
production-facing role is responsible for the operational health of
infrastructure, line-of-business applications, and platform services.
The primary focus of this position is to serve as the escalation point
for complex platform issues, ensuring ownership through resolution while
continuously improving client environments.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):


• Serve as escalation point for complex infrastructure, application, and
platform issues across multi-tenant client environments.
• Triage, configure, and tune monitoring and alerting platforms to
reduce noise and prevent incidents.
• Diagnose and restore line-of-business applications including payroll,
HR systems, and .NET services.
• Manage Windows Server environments including disk remediation,
services, Event Viewer diagnostics, file shares, and IIS logs.
• Perform SQL Server operational tasks including permissions, health
checks, and integrity checks.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online including mail flow,
licensing, and PowerShell management.
• Manage identity lifecycle across Active Directory and Entra ID
environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS and email authentication systems
including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Administer firewall and VPN environments, specifically FortiGate
technologies.
• Manage endpoint environments including RDP/RDS/AVD and Intune/MDM
policies.
• Lead client change management processes including scheduling,
approvals, and deployments.
• Coordinate P1 incident response and vendor escalations with clear
communication to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate ticket lifecycle management within ITSM platforms.

Requirements:


• 5+ years of experience in a Managed Service Provider environment at a
senior or Level 3 capacity.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, including Group
Policy and Hyper-V.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration.
• Experience managing Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
• Knowledge of email authentication and DNS management.
• Firewall and VPN administration experience, preferably FortiGate.
• Experience with RMM platforms and endpoint support tools.
• SQL Server operational experience.
• PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience supporting multi-tier business applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desired Qualifications:


• Experience with payroll, HR, or financial systems such as MPAY,
PrismHR, or Sage 50.
• Familiarity with public safety or CAD systems.
• Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience.
• Experience with FSLogix, RDSH, and profile container management.
• IIS administration experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft GCC High environments.
• macOS support experience.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject matter
